Speroni SA(M) Sea-Water Pump
The SA(M) pumps feature all wetted parts in 316 grade cast and pressed stainless steel. This “marine grade” construction enables these pumps to perform well in sea water and salt water. They have double mechanical seals in silicon carbide, carbon ceramic and Viton. Supplied with 10 metres of heavy duty, rubber power cable. Available in single or three phase, motors are fitted with internal overloads, enabling simple installation and direct connection to a power supply. Single phase pumps are automatic operation only, with a pendant type level control switch.
316 stainless steel is used widely in marine applications, but its corrosion resistance in contact with seawater is limited, so it cannot be considered ‘corrosion proof’. The corrosion risks increase with the effects of chloride concentrations, evaporation, temperature, aeration etc, (working individually or together); hence, the guarantee period for these models relates to the mechanical operation and may not cover all seawater conditions.
