Perfect for sewage and draining, the SV series of submersible pumps are manufactured by APP Pumps, and are a great range of submersible pumps that come with cast iron pump casings, vortex impellers and 304 stainless steel motor frames.

These pumps have a two-year manufacturer guarantee and are suitable for dirty water, sumps, cellars, light sewage, effluent and hire fleet.

The four main models of pumps in this range are the SV-150, the SV-250, the SV-400 and the SV-750. The SV-150 and SV-250 models deliver a free passage of fibrous materials up to 27mm and suspended soft-solids. There is a singular lip-seal in an oil chamber on the carbon ceramic mechanical seal. The SV-150 is only available in automatic.

The motor head cover on the SV-400 pump is made from thermoplastic, while the SV-750 is constructed with cast iron. These two larger models have cast iron impellers which are perfect for pumping hard solids from 35-37mm and fibrous materials. These models are ideal for pumping site water which is why they are commonly used as portable, hire fleet pumps. SV series are not recommended for use in water features or ponds. Each pump in this range comes with 10m of rubber power cable.

What's in the box:

What are the Different Types of Float Switches?

Each type of float switch has its advantages and is best suited for specific scenarios. The choice of float switch depends on factors such as the type of liquid, space constraints, required accuracy, and the pump's intended application.

What is the Difference between a Manual & Automatic Water Pump?

Manual Pump - A pump that does not have a float control or pressure switch to start and stop. It will require an operator to control it.

Automatic Pump - A pump that has a float control or pressure switch to start and stop without an operator.

A float switch is a level controller that has a buoyant, water-tight device that lies
on a liquid, actuating a micro-switch when the level rises or falls, turning a pump on or off.

Used the SV Pump in a Flood

Used the SV pump in a flood to pump away flood water from a chamber. I live next to a stream so groundwater can be an issue as the watercourse rises. It was very effective and my house stayed dry.

Who We Are

Who We Are

Flood Protection Solutions Ltd launched floodandwaterpumps.co.uk to make quality water pumps and expert advice easily accessible online. We have a large stock of water pumps which are available with next day delivery. Browse our shop to see the range of water pumps and flood pumps available. Whether you require pumps for flood water, draining construction sites or even for a water feature we have selected the best pumps available.

For a number of years, industry quality pumps were only accessible to trade customers, and domestic users were  left with generally poor-quality water pumps which often failed when used in anger. We have combined high-quality, reliable domestic and industrial pumps into one website which makes the best products available to all.

Flood Protection Solutions Ltd was founded in 2012, and has been supplying flood barriers, water pumps and consultancy services for the past 12 years. As part of our consultancy work, we extensively travel the UK, visiting homeowners, businesses and agencies to advise on flood protection schemes. We realised that too many people had previously purchased either the wrong type of water pump, or a poor quality one which did not perform the task well, and would not be reliable in service. Water pumps can be very important, and therefore you need the right type of pump and it need to be hard wearing.
