Stream Pumps are the manufacturer of the SPK530 puddle sucker pump. The manufacturer offers a 3-year warranty as standard, giving the added reassurance that you will get a product that is built to last. The SPK530 is one of the best water pumps on the market for pumping flood water and removing low level water, pumping down to just 1mm in depth.

As seen on the Environment Agency's "FloodMobile"

Applications

The heavy duty fully submersible electric water pump is widely used in residential and commercial situations, along with industrial applications and on hire fleets. This pump can be used for:

  • Removing water from flooded areas
  • Emptying hot tubs*
  • Draining flat roofs
  • Clearing water from garages, commercial units etc
  • Pumping water out from basements and cellars
  • Site drainage
  • Water storage areas
  • Internal or External use
  • Emergency usage and leaks

This pump is ideally suited to both clean and slightly dirty water (i.e flood water but not raw sewage).

Whilst the SPK530 can pump as low as 1mm, it can still be fully submersed in water, up to a maximum depth of 5 metres.

*Use only for emptying unoccupied hot tubs. Allow water to cool first. Flush the pump with clean water afterwards.

Key Features

  • Specially designed bottom plate allows pumping down to 1mm water level
  • Fully submersible up to 5m depth
  • Integral swing check valve prevents backflow from discharge hose
  • Water-cooled motor ensures efficient cooling and supports continuous duty operation at low water levels
  • Although described as a “manual” pump, it’s fully electric, it runs when power is switched on and stops when power is turned off.
  • Adjustable discharge connector (vertical or horizontal outlet) to reduce kinking

On the Stream SPK530, the discharge connector can be unbolted and rotated to suit your setup. This allows you to position the hose tail either horizontally or vertically, depending on where you’re pumping water and the type of hose you’re using. Adjustment is quick and easy, simply remove the two silver bolts, rotate the discharge plate, and refit the bolts. This flexibility can significantly reduce hose kinking and improve overall flow rate.

The pump delivers a maximum flow rate of 170 litres per minute through its 25mm outlet, with a maximum head of 11 metres, equivalent to approximately 1 bar of pressure. To estimate the flow rate at different hose lengths or elevations, refer to the pump performance graph.

The most popular hose purchased with this pump is the Suction Delivery Hose, which can be added to your order. It’s a preferred choice because it resists kinking and can easily route up and over walls, steps, or other obstacles. Layflat Hose is another common option, valued for its low cost and easy storage, though it is more prone to kinking during use. The pump comes complete with a hose tail, and thus to attach the hose you only need a hose clip - often known as a jubilee clip.

Durability and Protection

  • Wear-resistant materials used on key components for longevity
  • Built-in motor protector cuts power automatically to prevent overheating

This manual water pump is available in either 110V or 230V.

Which Hose Should I use with my Water Pump?

Layflat hose is very affordable but can kink. Depending on your use, you may be better using a reinforced suction delivery hose for your needs.

Suction delivery hose is ideal for pumping up stairs or over obstacles.

Jonathan Martin explains the differences to help you choose which hose is best for your scenario.

What is a Puddle Pump? | Quick Explanation

Puddle pumps are a special type of submersible pump that do not need to be fully submersed in water. They can pump to very low levels of water (i.e a puddle) without the pump overheating or becoming damaged. This removes the need for a chamber to be dug.

Who We Are

Who We Are

Flood Protection Solutions Ltd launched floodandwaterpumps.co.uk to make quality water pumps and expert advice easily accessible online. We have a large stock of water pumps which are available with next day delivery. Browse our shop to see the range of water pumps and flood pumps available. Whether you require pumps for flood water, draining construction sites or even for a water feature we have selected the best pumps available.

For a number of years, industry quality pumps were only accessible to trade customers, and domestic users were  left with generally poor-quality water pumps which often failed when used in anger. We have combined high-quality, reliable domestic and industrial pumps into one website which makes the best products available to all.

Flood Protection Solutions Ltd was founded in 2012, and has been supplying flood barriers, water pumps and consultancy services for the past 12 years. As part of our consultancy work, we extensively travel the UK, visiting homeowners, businesses and agencies to advise on flood protection schemes. We realised that too many people had previously purchased either the wrong type of water pump, or a poor quality one which did not perform the task well, and would not be reliable in service. Water pumps can be very important, and therefore you need the right type of pump and it need to be hard wearing.
