AMA Drainer 301 Automatic Submersible Water Pump 230v

Overview

The AMA Drainer 301 is one of the UK’s best-selling automatic submersible water pumps, known for its versatility, reliability, and compact design. This single-phase 230v drainage pump is fitted with a 0.18 kW motor and can operate at immersion depths of up to 2 metres, making it ideal for both domestic and light commercial use.

The pump features a 1¼" (32mm) outlet complete with an integrated non-return valve for efficient discharge and backflow prevention.

Typical Applications

The AMA Drainer 301 is suitable for a wide range of water drainage and pumping applications, including:

  • Draining wastewater, surface water or groundwater
  • Floodwater removal from pits, shafts, yards, and cellars
  • Water extraction from rivers, reservoirs, or storage tanks
  • Basement drainage and underground passage pumping
  • As a pumped drainage system where gravity drainage is not viable

Automatic Operation and Float Switch Design

Each pump is fitted with an arm float switch that automatically switches the pump on when water is detected and off once it’s removed.
This compact float design makes it suitable for narrow sumps and chambers, where traditional pendant floats may snag or fail to activate reliably.

From the factory, the ‘on’ level is set at 145 mm and the ‘off’ level at 70 mm. These can be adjusted up to 375 mm and 295 mm, allowing flexible setup for different installations. In manual mode, the pump can remove water down to 15 mm in depth.

Design and Build Quality

Weighing only 4.5 kg, the AMA Drainer 301 is lightweight yet durable. The high-quality plastic casing is abrasion- and impact-resistant, and its noise-absorbing design ensures quiet operation.

The frame-cooled enclosed motor includes thermal overload protection, allowing safe operation even when the motor is not fully submerged.
The pump handles solids up to 10 mm and delivers dependable performance in challenging drainage environments.

Who We Are

Who We Are

Flood Protection Solutions Ltd launched floodandwaterpumps.co.uk to make quality water pumps and expert advice easily accessible online. We have a large stock of water pumps which are available with next day delivery. Browse our shop to see the range of water pumps and flood pumps available. Whether you require pumps for flood water, draining construction sites or even for a water feature we have selected the best pumps available.

For a number of years, industry quality pumps were only accessible to trade customers, and domestic users were  left with generally poor-quality water pumps which often failed when used in anger. We have combined high-quality, reliable domestic and industrial pumps into one website which makes the best products available to all.

Flood Protection Solutions Ltd was founded in 2012, and has been supplying flood barriers, water pumps and consultancy services for the past 12 years. As part of our consultancy work, we extensively travel the UK, visiting homeowners, businesses and agencies to advise on flood protection schemes. We realised that too many people had previously purchased either the wrong type of water pump, or a poor quality one which did not perform the task well, and would not be reliable in service. Water pumps can be very important, and therefore you need the right type of pump and it need to be hard wearing.
