FPS Iguazu Sump 635 Packaged Pump Station
The FPS Iguazu Sump 635 is a complete, ready-to-install packaged pump station that automatically removes groundwater, light grey water and flood water.
It pairs a 190 litre high-grade MDPE chamber with the automatic AMA Drainer 301 submersible pump, which has a maximum flow rate of 166 litres per minute and a maximum rated head of 6.5 metres. It is our most straightforward and cost-effective station, and the one most often specified for basement waterproofing and domestic flood resilience.
What it is for
Water can enters through a perimeter channel, a 110mm pipe connection, or the opening at the top of the chamber. The chamber can also be drilled to allow groundwater to enter if installed externally. Typical installations are basements, garages, patios, driveways and gardens, and it integrates well into perimeter flood protection systems alongside flood barriers and flood walls.
Not suitable for toilet waste. This is a clean, grey and flood water station, suitable for grey water from showers and basins, but it must not be connected to a W.C. or any foul drainage. For toilet waste, see our foul range: the Sump Foul, Foul Pro and FEKA.
Automatic operation
The pump is switched by a float on an arm, which reduces the risk of snagging compared with a hanging float. The chamber fills, the float rises, the pump runs and then turns off, clearing a useful depth on each cycle rather than switching on and off over a few centimetres. Because it is installed below ground and operates on its own, it does not need anyone present, which is the main advantage over a portable puddle pump during a flood. One customer told us their Iguazu ran automatically during flooding while they were away in Australia and kept the property dry.
You will see in the gallery that some installations use a drilled lid so water can enter the chamber. In these instances the clients had two lids, one with holes they would deploy when there was flood warning, and the original lid for day-to-day use. A finished installation can be very discreet, with neat drainage channels and only an inspection chamber lid visible.
Flow rate and head
The AMA Drainer 301 has a maximum flow rate of 166 litres per minute and a maximum rated head of 6.5 metres.
These are the two ends of the pump curve rather than a single duty point: at 6.5 metres the flow has fallen to zero, and the full 166 litres per minute is only available with no lift at all. What you actually get sits between the two, where the curve meets the resistance of your pipework. In practice this is why the 635 is our most popular station. That flow is comfortably enough for the great majority of duties, and it is well matched to the size of the chamber, which matters more than raw output.
Understanding flow rate: To put a pump’s flow rate into perspective, a typical outside tap delivers around 10 to 15 litres of water per minute.
A pump rated at 100 litres per minute could therefore move roughly the same volume of water as 7 to 10 outside taps running at once.
A pump with far more capacity than the inflow empties the chamber in seconds and restarts moments later, and that short cycling can wear pumps out.
The AMA Drainer 301 is a KSB pump with a strong reliability record, using a compact arm float that works in narrow chambers without snagging, a thermally protected motor and 10mm solids handling. It draws 0.43 kW (P1) for a 0.18 kW (P2) motor output.

Installation and discharge
The chamber should be installed on a concrete bed and surrounded with concrete to prevent flotation and movement. Depending on the desired installation, these chambers are often connected with fixed PVC delivery pipe, or with suction and delivery hose, matched to the outlet size.
The chamber outlet terminates in a 1¼ inch male thread and discharges through 32mm pipework, so use 32mm rigid pipe and fittings secured with solvent weld, or suction and delivery hose with a 32mm female hose tail. The hose option is made up from three parts: a hose tail, the hose, and a hose clip. Add them to your order alongside the station.
When installed internally, the chamber would usually be fitted with a recessed, sealed lid, allowing the surrounding floor finish to be continued across it while helping to contain odours and moisture.
Supplied as a complete plug and play unit, ready for installation. Some on-site work is required, including connecting components, drilling entry holes for cables and routing wiring through a suitable conduit. Read our guide to installing a sump pump.

High-level alarm: audible warning of rising water levels.

Battery backup: suitable for light grey water duties such as wash basins. It is not intended to run continuously through a flood event.

Recessed cover, sealed and locking: recommended wherever the chamber is installed internally. Factory fitted single neoprene seal.
