Honda Water Pumps

Honda water pumps are built around the engine that made Honda's name on site: the GX 4-stroke. Where cheaper pumps use 2-stroke engines that need petrol and oil mixed by hand, every Honda pump runs on clean unleaded with separate oil, starts first or second pull, and keeps going season after season. That reliability is why Honda is the engine of choice for hire fleets, contractors, farms and emergency flood response.

Built on the GX

GX engine power you can rely on.

Every Honda pump runs on the Honda GX 4-stroke, the commercial-grade engine proven across millions of machines. Here is why that matters.

Why the Honda GX engine matters

  • 4-stroke, no fuel mixing. Runs on ordinary unleaded petrol with separate engine oil, cleaner, simpler and more fuel efficient than 2-stroke.
  • Easy starting. The GX engine is renowned for starting easily, even after standing between jobs.
  • Oil Alert protection. The WB20 and WB30 have the Oil Alert engine protection system fitted to prevent damage from inadequate lubrication
during use with low oil, or at an angle
  • Built to last. Commercial-grade OHV design, proven across millions of machines worldwide, backed by Honda's engine warranty.

Need an electric or submersible pump instead?

Honda pumps are surface-mounted petrol pumps that sit out of the water with a suction hose. If you need a pump that sits in the water, see our submersible pumps, and for the wider petrol and diesel range see our engine driven pumps.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions.

Which Honda water pump do I need?

The WX10 (1 inch) for light transfer around the home and garden, the WB20 (2 inch) for general site, farm and flood work where you need lift, and the WB30 (3 inch) for moving the largest volumes of water. Use the comparison above, or call 0115 987 0358.

Are Honda water pumps 4-stroke?

Yes. All run on the Honda GX 4-stroke engine, so they use ordinary unleaded petrol with separate engine oil, with no fuel mixing.

What is Oil Alert?

A Honda system that automatically stops the engine if the oil level falls too low, preventing engine damage.

Can Honda WB pumps handle dirty water?

The WX and WB are general-purpose clear-water pumps that pass small suspended solids through a suction strainer. For heavily silted or solids-laden water, choose a submersible dirty water or site drainage pump instead.

What warranty do Honda pumps come with?

They are covered by Honda's manufacturer engine warranty. Confirm the current domestic and professional terms on each product page.
