FPS Iguazu Sump Foul Packaged Pump Station
The FPS Iguazu Sump Foul is our standard packaged sewage pump station, for foul water from basements and ground floor extensions where gravity drainage is not possible.
It pairs a 190 litre high-grade MDPE chamber with the EVAK Hippo 50 sewage pump, with a maximum flow rate of 330 litres per minute and a maximum rated head of 7 metres.
The vortex impeller passes solids up to 50mm. For a typical domestic foul duty it is the often the right size, and is the best value in the range.
What it is for
A common application is collecting foul water from a W.C. or utility room and discharging it to the main sewer. A typical example is the foul sewage from an annex, a garden room or a property extension.
It is also used in flood defence systems to drain void spaces, and to manage external water and low-lying areas where gravity drainage is not viable.
Choosing between the three foul stations:

Sump Foul (Hippo 50, 330 L/min to 7m): the standard domestic foul station.

Sump Foul Pro (Hippo 100, 480 L/min to 11m): for larger or higher-demand sites, or a long or high discharge run.

Sump FEKA (stainless, 400 L/min to 7.5m): for harsher conditions or intermittent use.
Bigger is not automatically better. A pump with far more capacity than the inflow empties the chamber quickly and switches on and off too often, and that short cycling shortens pump life. The float switch fills and empties the chamber on a sensible cycle when the station is correctly matched to the duty.
Flow rate and head
The EVAK Hippo 50 has a maximum flow rate of 330 litres per minute and a maximum rated head of 7 metres.
These are the two ends of the pump curve rather than a single duty point: at 7 metres the flow has fallen to zero, and the full 330 litres per minute is only available with no lift at all. What you actually get sits between the two, where the curve meets the resistance of your pipework. Installation and discharge
Often installed internally or externally. When installed internally, the chamber would usually be fitted with a recessed, sealed lid, allowing the surrounding floor finish to be continued across it while helping to contain odours and moisture.
Depending on the desired installation, these chambers are often connected with fixed PVC delivery pipe, or with suction and delivery hose, matched to the outlet size. The chamber outlet terminates in a 2 inch male BSP thread, and the station is designed to pump through a 63mm pump main. Alternatively, use 50mm (2 inch) suction and delivery hose. The hose option is made up from three parts: a hose tail, the hose, and a hose clip.
Supplied as a complete plug and play unit, ready for installation. Some on-site work is required, including reconnecting components, drilling entry holes for cables and routing wiring through a suitable conduit. Read our guide to installing a sump pump.

A real installation
The gallery includes an external installation at a property where patio doors had a limited threshold and were exposed to flooding. Gravity drainage was not possible, because the area sat lower than the discharge point and roof drainage had no formal connection, so the Iguazu Foul provided the solution. The video shows the site before installation, with photographs afterwards. It has operated reliably for many years since, and the finished installation is discreet, with minimal visual impact.
Options

High-level alarm: early warning of rising water levels.

Battery backup system: suitable for grey and foul duties such as wash basins. It is not intended to run continuously through a flood event.

Recessed cover, sealed and locking: recommended for internal use and for any foul installation. Factory fitted single neoprene seal.
Maintenance
Used regularly, the Sump Foul needs very little maintenance. The hardest condition for any pump is standing unused for long periods in damp conditions, which can cause components to seize, so run it periodically. Where a system will be used infrequently, the stainless Sump FEKA is often the better choice. The gallery includes a short maintenance video.
Important: design and installation is site specific
Pump station design and installation is site specific. You should always consult a suitably qualified engineer to determine the correct configuration and installation method for your application, and a qualified electrician for the electrical connection.
