Speroni AKM60 Peripheral Pump | Self Priming Volumetric Pump for Domestic Pressure Systems

The Speroni AKM60 is a self priming volumetric peripheral pump designed for domestic water pressure systems. With its high head, low flow performance and characteristically stable operating curve, the AKM60 is ideal for boosting mains pressure and automatically distributing clean water through small pressure tanks, autoclaves and membrane hydrosphere units.

What is the Speroni AKM60 pump used for?

•    Domestic water pressure systems
•    Boosting mains pressure where supply is weak
•    Automatic water distribution behind small pressure tanks and autoclaves
•    Light pressurisation of household plumbing
•    Small membrane hydrosphere units
•    Transfer of clean water with no solids

Construction and Durability

The AKM60 is built around a cast iron pump body and cast iron motor support, with a brass peripheral impeller and an AISI 304 stainless steel shaft. The mechanical seal is ceramic, graphite and NBR. The peripheral impeller design gives high head from a compact, low power unit and an inherently stable pressure curve, which is why volumetric peripheral pumps are widely chosen for small autoclave installations. Speroni include a No Block System, which helps the pump start cleanly after periods of standing. The motor is a two pole induction unit with Class F insulation and IP44 protection.

Why choose the AKM60?

Where a centrifugal pump would deliver fluctuating pressure on a small system, the AKM60 keeps it steady. The peripheral impeller produces a clean, stable head curve which works in the AKM60's favour on autoclave installations where smooth automatic on and off cycling is needed. It is self priming up to 7 metres suction lift and Made in Italy by Speroni, giving the build quality expected of long life domestic pressure systems. For owners of small private water supply systems, the AKM60 is a sensible, proven choice.

How the AKM60 Compares to the KFM and KPM

All three are Speroni peripheral pumps with similar output characteristics. The difference is self-priming. The AKM60 is self-priming; the KFM and KPM are not. If your pump sits above the water source, choose the AKM60. If the pump has flooded suction (water source above or level with the pump), a KFM or KPM will do the same job for less money.

What's in the box

• 1 x Speroni AKM60 self priming peripheral pump

Accessories

A pressure controller can be added to provide dry-run protection and automatic start/stop when a tap or valve is opened. This turns the AKM60 into a simple booster unit without the need for a pressure vessel.

Important: WRAS Approval

This pump is not WRAS approved and is not for drinking water supply. It is suitable for irrigation, sprinklers, fire systems, rainwater harvesting, cooling loops, and industrial or agricultural water.

Who We Are

Who We Are

Flood Protection Solutions Ltd launched floodandwaterpumps.co.uk to make quality water pumps and expert advice easily accessible online. We have a large stock of water pumps which are available with next day delivery. Browse our shop to see the range of water pumps and flood pumps available. Whether you require pumps for flood water, draining construction sites or even for a water feature we have selected the best pumps available.

For a number of years, industry quality pumps were only accessible to trade customers, and domestic users were  left with generally poor-quality water pumps which often failed when used in anger. We have combined high-quality, reliable domestic and industrial pumps into one website which makes the best products available to all.

Flood Protection Solutions Ltd was founded in 2012, and has been supplying flood barriers, water pumps and consultancy services for the past 12 years. As part of our consultancy work, we extensively travel the UK, visiting homeowners, businesses and agencies to advise on flood protection schemes. We realised that too many people had previously purchased either the wrong type of water pump, or a poor quality one which did not perform the task well, and would not be reliable in service. Water pumps can be very important, and therefore you need the right type of pump and it need to be hard wearing.
