Speroni RA(M) Horizontal Self-Priming Multistage Pump
Self-priming multistage pump for garden water supply and rainwater pressurisation where the source is below the pump.
The RA and RAM are multi-staging non-self-priming, horizontal centrifuge pumps. For the pumping of only clean water, manufactured by Speroni Pumps.
- An M at the end of the model name (RAM) means 230V single-phase.
- No M (RA) means 400V three-phase.
They develop high pressures from small motors and operate virtually silent, this makes them great for domestic use, in addition to horticultural and industrial applications.
The 1.5kW and 1.9kW models feature hard-faced mechanical seals.
The Speroni RA and RAM combine two features in one pump
- Self-priming capability and multistage pressure boosting.
This makes it the natural choice for garden water supply from a tank, small sprinkler systems, and any application where the pump sits above the water source but still needs to deliver high pressure.
Most multistage pumps (the RS, RV, RSX ranges) are not self-priming. They need flooded suction. The RA(M) solves this by combining self-priming technology with a multistage impeller stack, giving you both capabilities in a single pump.
Where the Speroni RA(M) Pump is Used
Garden and allotment water supply from a tank below ground. Rainwater harvesting pressurisation (with appropriate air gap). Small sprinkler systems where the source is below pump level. Irrigation from streams, ponds, and storage tanks. Horticultural and greenhouse water supply. Light industrial transfer with pressure requirement.
Choosing Between the Models
The smaller models (RAM 3, 4, 5) are garden-scale: lower flow, good for small gardens and rainwater systems.
The larger models (RAM 40, 50) step up to irrigation and small commercial use.
RA(M) Versus CA(M) Jet
Both are self-priming. The CA(M) jet pump uses a single impeller plus a jet venturi (simple, reliable, moderate head). The RA(M) multistage uses several impellers in series (more complex, higher head, quieter). For jobs that need modest pressure from a simple pump, the CA(M) is often the right answer and costs less.
For jobs that need real pressure with continuous running and quiet operation, the RA(M) is the better choice.
Important: WRAS Approval
This pump is not WRAS approved and is not for drinking water supply. It is suitable for irrigation, sprinklers, fire systems, rainwater harvesting, cooling loops, and industrial or agricultural water.
