Packaged Pump Stations

Packaged pump stations are complete, ready-to-install systems that combine a chamber, submersible pump, internal pipework, non-return valve, and float switch in a single unit. Once installed below ground, they operate automatically with minimal intervention.

Our range covers clean water, grey water, foul water, and high-flow flood applications, with both single and twin pump configurations.

If you are looking for a standalone pump rather than a complete system, see our Submersible Pumps collection.

What is a Packaged Pump Station?

A packaged pump station is supplied as a complete system, with the chamber, pump or pumps, internal pipework, non-return valve, and float switch pre-assembled.

Once installed, the system operates automatically. As water enters the chamber, the float switch activates the pump, which discharges the water to a higher drainage point. When the water level drops, the pump switches off.

Because they are installed below ground and run automatically, packaged pump stations are widely used in situations where gravity drainage is not possible or where water needs to be actively managed.

Typical Applications

Packaged pump stations are commonly used for:

  • Flood control and groundwater management
  • Basement and Type C waterproofing systems
  • Pumped surface water drainage where gravity drainage is not available
  • Foul and grey water transfer from properties

Bespoke and Larger Sizes

The range above covers the majority of domestic and small commercial installations.

We are continuing to expand our packaged pump station range to include larger chambers and higher capacity systems, suitable for more demanding commercial and infrastructure applications.

If you require a configuration not listed, including alternative chamber sizes, inlet arrangements, twin pump systems, increased storage volumes, or different pump specifications, please get in touch. We can supply a wide range of pump stations beyond those shown on this page.

For projects requiring detailed design, hydraulic calculations, or site specific pumped drainage solutions, these services are delivered by our sister company, FPS Environmental Ltd, on a formal consultancy basis. This ensures any engineered solution is based on proper site understanding, not assumptions.

Delivery and Availability

Most standard systems are available for fast dispatch. However, some pump stations are built or configured to order, particularly where specific chamber sizes or layouts are required, so next day delivery may not always be possible.

Engineer-Led Supply

When you buy from us, you are purchasing equipment selected through real engineering experience, not just catalogue listings. We supply pumps and pump stations to a wide range of clients, including organisations such as the Environment Agency, and we see how systems perform in real flood and drainage conditions.

Our packaged pump stations are built around proven components and practical configurations, with a focus on reliability, serviceability, and long-term performance.

Pump station design and installation is site specific. You should always consult a suitably qualified engineer to determine the correct configuration and installation method for your application.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a sump pump and a packaged pump station?

A sump pump is a single submersible pump that sits inside an existing chamber. A packaged pump station is a complete system, with the chamber, pump, internal pipework, non-return valve, and float switch supplied as one ready-to-install unit.

What is the difference between clean, grey and foul water?

Clean water is rainwater, groundwater, and surface water. Grey water is wastewater from sinks, showers, and washing machines. Foul water contains sewage from toilets and requires a pump rated to handle solids, such as the Iguazu Foul, Foul Pro, or FEKA models.

Can I get a bespoke or larger packaged pump station?

Yes. We can supply alternative chamber sizes, inlet arrangements, twin pump systems, and different pump specifications beyond those shown here. For projects requiring detailed design or hydraulic calculations, our sister company FPS Environmental Ltd delivers these on a formal consultancy basis.

Where does the pumped water discharge to?

Discharge depends on the type of water and the property setup. Clean water and surface water typically discharge to a soakaway, ditch, or surface water drain. Foul water must discharge to a foul sewer or treatment plant.

Can a packaged pump station be installed indoors?

Yes, in principle, but it depends on the floor construction and build-up. Indoor installations are common for basements, garages, and properties where external installation is not practical, but the structure must be suitable to accommodate the chamber and allow for correct installation.

For internal installations, and for any foul water system, a sealed and recessed cover should be specified to contain odours and manage any potential overflow. This is available as an optional extra on the relevant models.
