Speroni CMX Single-Stage Centrifugal Surface Pump (230V)
Stainless steel single-stage centrifugal pump for transfer and light chemicals, in 230V single-phase.
The CMX is a single-stage centrifugal surface pump with a full stainless steel 304 wet end, designed for transfer applications where cast iron is not suitable. The range covers multiple power options, which makes it one of the most flexible pumps in the Speroni range.
The CMX is the 230V single-phase version of this pump. The 400V three-phase equivalent is the Speroni CTX, listed separately. Choose CMX if your supply is domestic or small commercial; choose CTX if you have three-phase available.
Single-stage centrifugal pumps are general-purpose workhorses. One impeller, mounted on the motor shaft, spins the water outward and discharges it under pressure. They are good at moderate flow and moderate head, and they handle a wider range of fluids than multistage pumps because the flow path is simpler.
Where the Speroni CMX Pump is Used
Industrial water transfer where corrosion resistance matters. Agricultural and horticultural irrigation. Treatment plants and processing lines. Air-conditioning and cooling system circulation. Light chemical handling (with appropriate seal specification). Stored water and rainwater systems. General non-potable transfer where stainless construction is preferred over cast iron.
Stainless Steel Construction
The CMX is built in stainless steel 304 where it matters. The pump body, impeller, shaft, and pump flange are all stainless 304, with a silicon carbide and EPDM mechanical seal that resists aggressive fluids, and a cast aluminium motor support.
This is what makes the pump suitable for moderately aggressive liquids, light chemicals, food washdown, glycol solutions, chlorinated pool water, and industrial process water where a standard cast iron pump would corrode quickly.
Choosing Between the CMX Variants
The naming convention is simple: the first number is the approximate flow in l/min, the second number is the motor power in kW. Pick the smallest model that covers your flow and head requirement. If you are unsure, send us the details and we will recommend.
Not Self-Priming
The CMX is not self-priming. It needs flooded suction, meaning the water source must be above or at the same level as the pump inlet. If the pump must sit above the water source, the suction pipe has to be primed manually and fitted with a foot valve to hold prime between runs. Max suction lift with a foot valve is 7 metres.
Important: WRAS Approval
This pump is not WRAS approved and is not for drinking water supply. It is suitable for irrigation, sprinklers, fire systems, rainwater harvesting, cooling loops, and industrial or agricultural water.
