WHY IT WORKS

Built for the job

The three-phase version of the CMX, more efficient on continuous duty where 400V supply is available.

The CTX is the 400V three-phase version of the Speroni CMX. It is the same pump, the same stainless steel construction, the same performance, but with a three-phase motor. On any site where three-phase supply is available, the CTX is the better choice: more efficient, runs cooler on continuous duty, and typically cheaper to run over the life of the pump.

Three-phase motors deliver smoother power than single-phase. For continuous-duty applications, agricultural use, industrial installations, and commercial buildings with three-phase supply, this matters. You get more reliability, less heat, and lower running cost.

Suitable for potable water from a tank or private supply (not for direct mains, not WRAS approved)

Where the Speroni CTX Pump is Used

Industrial water transfer and processing. Agricultural irrigation where three-phase supply is available. Air-conditioning and chilled water circulation. Treatment plants and washdown systems. Cooling loops in industrial buildings. Moderately aggressive liquids (subject to written application details). Fire booster systems (with appropriate controls).

Stainless Steel Construction

The CTX is built in stainless steel 304 where it matters. The pump body, impeller, shaft, and pump flange are all stainless 304, with a silicon carbide and EPDM mechanical seal that resists aggressive fluids, and a cast aluminium motor support.

This is what makes the pump suitable for clean water and industrial process water where a standard cast iron pump would corrode quickly. Speroni also rates it for moderately aggressive liquids, subject to written details of the application, so please send us the details of any liquid other than water before ordering.

Not Self-Priming

The CTX is not self-priming. It needs flooded suction, meaning the water source must be above or at the same level as the pump inlet. If the pump must sit above the water source, the suction pipe has to be primed manually and fitted with a foot valve to hold prime between runs. Max suction lift with a foot valve is 7 metres.

When to Choose CTX Over CMX

Choose the CTX if your site has a three-phase electrical supply, if the pump will run for long periods or continuously, or if the installation is industrial, agricultural, or commercial. Choose the CMX instead if your site has only a domestic 230V supply or the pump will run intermittently in a residential installation.

Choosing Between the Models

Same principle as the CMX: the first number in the model name is the approximate flow in l/min, the second is the motor power in kW.

Common questions

What liquids can the Speroni CTX pump?

Clean water from 0 to 90°C, and it is suitable for potable water from a tank or private supply (not for direct mains, not WRAS approved). It can also pump moderately aggressive liquids, but the right selection depends on the liquid, so send us written details of any liquid other than water before ordering. It is not for solids or dirty water.

Is the CTX self-priming?

No. Like the CMX, it needs flooded suction, with the water source at or above the pump inlet, or a primed suction line with a foot valve. With a foot valve the maximum suction lift is 7 metres. Fill the pump and suction line with water before starting.

Why choose the three-phase CTX over the single-phase CMX?

Choose the CTX if your site has a 400V three-phase supply, if the pump will run for long periods or continuously, or if the installation is industrial, agricultural or commercial. It is the same stainless pump as the CMX with the same performance, but the three-phase motor runs cooler on continuous duty and typically costs less to run. With only a 230V supply, choose the CMX.

How much flow and head do the CTX models give?

The CTX 60 and 100 models give up to 100 to 200 litres per minute and 19 to 30 metres head. The CTX 160, 250 and 330 models give up to 400 to 550 litres per minute, with up to 31 metres head on the CTX 250/2.2. In the model name, the second number is the motor power in kW, from 0.37 to 2.2.

What size inlet and outlet does the CTX have?

The CTX 60 and 100 models have a 1¼ inch BSP female inlet and 1 inch outlet. The CTX 160 and 250 models have a 1½ inch inlet and 1¼ inch outlet, and the CTX 330 models a 2 inch inlet and 1¼ inch outlet. Size non-collapsing suction hose or pipe to your model's inlet (32mm, 38mm or 50mm), with airtight joints.
