Pentair La Sta-Rite 5P2R: High Head, Reliable Pool Circulation

The Pentair La Sta-Rite 5P2R is a high efficiency, low maintenance pool pump from one of the most trusted names in the industry. Its high head impellers make it a strong choice where the plant room sits well back from the pool, and a corrosion resistant build with stainless steel inserts, an AISI 304 stainless drive end shaft and sealed SKF bearings is designed to keep running for years. The extra large pre filter basket means longer gaps between cleaning, and the stainless steel locking clamp makes servicing quick, as well as allowing a straightforward upgrade to a variable speed motor. The 5P2R is available in four power options, in single or three phase, and is salt resistant for use with salt chlorinated pools.

Construction and durability

The La Sta-Rite 5P2R is engineered for a long service life in a demanding poolside environment. Corrosion resistant stainless steel inserts, a stainless steel locking clamp and a bi-material shaft with an AISI 304 stainless steel drive end all resist the effects of water and pool chemicals, and sealed SKF bearings keep the motor running smoothly. The induction asynchronous motor is IPX5 rated, with thermal protection on single phase models and IE2 efficiency on three phase models, and a mechanical seal protects the shaft. Made in Italy, the 5P2R is designed to operate for many years with minimal servicing, and the stainless steel clamp means the wet end can be opened quickly for basket cleaning or upgraded to a variable speed motor when needed.

Why choose the Pentair La Sta-Rite 5P2R?

Choose the La Sta-Rite when you want proven Sta-Rite reliability with strong head performance and low running maintenance. The high head impellers handle longer pipe runs and plant rooms set away from the pool better than many standard pumps, while the extra large basket and quick release stainless clamp keep upkeep simple. With four power options across single and three phase, salt resistance to 4 g/l and unions included, it fits a wide range of domestic and light commercial pools. It is also future proof, because the same body upgrades easily to a variable speed motor if you want to cut running costs later. It is backed by a 2 year warranty.

How to Choose the Correct Swimming Pool Pump:

It is important that the flow rate of the pump is correctly matched to the quantity of water in the pool to ensure the water is circulated effectively. Swimming pool experts rule of thumb is to circulate all the water within an 8-hour period. Normally you may consider replacing a pump like for like, however if it has failed prematurely it may have been the incorrect pump for the system, so we recommend following our
