WHY IT WORKS

Built for the job

Corrosion-Resistant Centrifugal Pump for Seawater, Chemicals and Aggressive Liquids

The Poly series of centrifugal pumps has been purpose-built for the transfer of aggressive but non-abrasive liquids such as chemicals and seawater that would cause corrosion in aluminium, rubber and cast iron engine-driven pumps. Available as petrol or diesel, and in 50mm (2") or 80mm (3") port sizes, the range is suited to applications in chemicals, marine environments, agriculture, industry and diesel transfer. Construction uses reinforced polyester and stainless steel fasteners throughout.

What is the Poly Petrol/Diesel Chemical Seawater Pump used for?

•    Seawater and salt water transfer and dewatering
•    Chemical transfer and handling
•    Marine and harbour applications
•    Agricultural chemical and liquid transfer
•    Industrial process liquid transfer
•    Diesel transfer

Construction and Durability

The pump body is manufactured from reinforced polyester, providing strong resistance to the corrosive effects of seawater, chemicals and aggressive liquids that would rapidly degrade cast iron or aluminium alternatives. All fasteners are stainless steel. Seal options are available to suit the liquid being pumped: Viton or Buna seal kits are available to order for acids and diesel respectively. Petrol models are powered by a Honda GX160 OHV engine with oil alert. Diesel models use a Yanmar L48 engine. Recommended suction lift is 6 metres; maximum is 8 metres.

Why choose the Poly Petrol/Diesel Chemical Seawater Pump?

The Poly pump addresses the fundamental weakness of conventional engine-driven centrifugal pumps: the aluminium, rubber and cast iron components that corrode when exposed to seawater, chemicals and aggressive liquids. The reinforced polyester construction handles a wide range of these liquids without the deterioration seen in standard pumps. The availability of Viton and Buna seal options extends compatibility further. A site trolley is available as an optional extra across the range. It is advisable to confirm the correct seal option for the specific liquid being pumped before ordering.

01

Water collects

Rainwater or seepage flows in via the gravity inlet and pools at the bottom of the buried chamber.

02

Float arm rises

As the level climbs, the arm float lifts. At the trigger height it closes the switch contact.

03

Pump discharges

The Ama-Drainer N 301 powers up, lifting water through the riser and out to the sewer.

04

Cut-out at low level

The arm drops as water clears. The switch opens and the pump rests until the next cycle.

Water

Foul or surface water collected from the gravity inlet at the side of the chamber.

Pump

Submersible Ama-Drainer N 301, switched by the float arm.

Trigger

Arm float switch closes the circuit at the high-water mark and opens at cut-out.

Chamber

Robust MDPE shell with flanged base to anchor against buoyancy and ground movement.
