FPS Iguazu Sump Foul Packaged Pump Station

The FPS Iguazu Sump Foul is a packaged pump station designed primarily to collect foul water from basements and ground floor extensions where gravity drainage isn’t possible. It’s also used in flood defence systems to drain void spaces or manage external water in areas at risk of flooding.

The most common application is to collect foul water from a W.C. or utility room and discharge it to the main sewer. The system is built for easy installation and long-term reliability, manufactured from high-grade MDPE, and supplied as a complete package with all internal pipework and a sewage pump. It can be installed internally or externally, depending on site needs. The discharge pipework comes complete with a Non-Return valve.

Versatility and Options

While designed for foul use, the Iguazu Foul is versatile, ideal wherever gravity drainage is not viable. It is the less powerful of the two foul systems, with the FPS Iguazu Sump Foul Pro offering greater pumping capacity for larger or more demanding sites. For harsher environments, the FPS Iguazu Sump FEKA model is also available, which uses a stainless steel pump.

It’s important to select a system with the correct pumping power for your setup; a pump that’s too strong may cause unnecessary cycling (switching on and off too frequently). The Iguazu’s float switch system ensures smooth, automatic operation,  the tank fills and then empties once the float rises, maintaining efficient performance.

This system uses the EVAK Hippo 50 Sewage Pump, which can also be purchased separately.

Sump Pump Example Installation

Included in the gallery is an external installation at a property where patio doors had a limited threshold and were exposed to flooding. Because gravity drainage wasn’t possible (the area sat lower than the discharge point, and roof drainage had no formal connection) the Iguazu Foul system provided the perfect solution. The video shows the before the installation, with photos post installation, with installation transforming the site’s drainage performance. Since fitting, the pump has operated reliably for many years, effectively resolving long-standing drainage issues.

This example also highlights how discreet and tidy the system can be once installed, with minimal visual impact, yet maximum functionality – turning off and on automatically as required.

Avoiding Common Sump Pump Mistakes

Here are the five sump pump mistakes we see often, read how to avoid them.

**The system is supplied as a complete ‘Plug & Play’ unit, ready for quick installation. Some on-site work will be required, including reconnecting components, drilling entry holes for cables, and routing wiring through a suitable conduit. Read our blog on Installing a Sump Pump here

Maintenance

When used regularly, the FPS Iguazu Sump Foul requires very little maintenance. The most challenging environment for any pump is when it remains unused for long periods in damp or wet conditions, as this can cause components to seize. To prevent this, the pump should be run periodically to keep it operating smoothly.

For installations where the system is infrequently used, the FEKA model is often a better choice due to its enhanced durability in harsher or intermittent environments.

Included in the gallery is a maintenance video demonstrating simple upkeep tips, such as using silicone spray to help maintain the functionality and longevity of your pump.

Installing a Sump Pump

Watch below as we install a Packaged Pump Station into a garage floor, to assist with removing any floodwater that may enter.

In this instance, the property was suffering some water ingress into the garage through the walls, and also through a non-FPS Flood barrier.

The Sump Pump was installed into the garage floor to provide a passive solution to remove water from the garage.
