APP HD-15 Submersible Pump – High-Flow

The APP HD‑15 is a powerful, high‑flow submersible drainage pump designed for applications where maximum water movement is critical. It is widely trusted by hire fleets, utilities, construction teams, mines and quarries for large‑scale dewatering and flood defence.

As the highest‑flow single‑phase submersible pump in our range, the HD‑15 is ideal where large volumes of water must be moved.

What is the APP HD‑15 pump used for?

  • Flood defence and emergency water removal
  • Quarry and mine dewatering
  • Construction site drainage
  • Utilities and infrastructure projects
  • Large ponds, water features, and processing applications
  • Hire fleet use

Construction and Durability

The APP HD‑15 is engineered for tough site conditions and long service life.

  • Wear‑resistant ductile iron impeller, casing, and suction cover
  • Semi‑open impeller for solids up to 9mm
  • Stainless‑steel strainer for silt, sand and suspended solids
  • Cast‑iron motor head cover for added strength
  • Double mechanical silicon carbide shaft seal for durability

Standing just over half a metre tall and weighing approximately 25kg, the HD‑15 is a substantial, industrial‑grade pump built for repeated professional use in harsh environments.

Why Choose the APP HD‑15?

The APP HD‑15 is the highest‑flow single‑phase submersible pump in our range, making it an excellent choice for demanding professional use. Manufactured by APP Pumps and backed by a 2‑year manufacturer’s warranty, it is chosen where fast, reliable dewatering is essential.

  • Delivers up to 830 litres per minute at a 10m head
  • Designed for continuous or intermittent operation
  • Handles groundwater, sandy water, pond water and flood water
  • No external control box required (integrated capacitor and motor protection)

Operational Details

  • Power supply: 230V or 110V options available
  • Flow rate: up to 830 L/min
  • Maximum head: 10m
  • Outlet sizes: 50mm or 80mm
  • Solid handling: up to 9mm
  • Operating temperature: 0–40°C
  • Duty: continuous or intermittent
  • Cable length: 10m heavy‑duty rubber power cable

For maximum lifespan during continuous use, operate the pump near the midpoint of its pump curve. The 80mm outlet is intended to maximise flow by minimising friction loss; in some installations 50mm hose may be preferable due to site constraints.

What’s in the box

  • 1 × APP HD‑15 submersible pump
  • 1 × 10m heavy‑duty rubber power cable
  • 1 × hose tail

Please note: as an industrial product, a fitted plug is not supplied.

Which Hose Should I use with my Water Pump?

Layflat hose is very affordable but can kink. Depending on your use, you may be better using a reinforced suction delivery hose for your needs.

Suction delivery hose is ideal for pumping up stairs or over obstacles.

Jonathan Martin explains the differences to help you choose which hose is best for your scenario.

Learn How to Read a Pump Curve in Minutes

With many pump specifications, you will often see a graph, with a curve or a series of curves depending on additional models, these are called pump curves. The pump curve describes the relationship between the flow rate, and the head of the pump.

The head shows how high pumps can pump vertically, with horizontal pumping, we normally use the rule of 10 metres distance will equate to 1 metre in vertical pumping. Always aim to use a pump towards the centre of the curve, as this is the optimal way to use a pump. Using a pump on either edge of the curve will put a lot of stress on the pump, which could cause it to wear out sooner. Watch the video here

Who We Are

Who We Are

Flood Protection Solutions Ltd launched floodandwaterpumps.co.uk to make quality water pumps and expert advice easily accessible online. We have a large stock of water pumps which are available with next day delivery. Browse our shop to see the range of water pumps and flood pumps available. Whether you require pumps for flood water, draining construction sites or even for a water feature we have selected the best pumps available.

For a number of years, industry quality pumps were only accessible to trade customers, and domestic users were  left with generally poor-quality water pumps which often failed when used in anger. We have combined high-quality, reliable domestic and industrial pumps into one website which makes the best products available to all.

Flood Protection Solutions Ltd was founded in 2012, and has been supplying flood barriers, water pumps and consultancy services for the past 12 years. As part of our consultancy work, we extensively travel the UK, visiting homeowners, businesses and agencies to advise on flood protection schemes. We realised that too many people had previously purchased either the wrong type of water pump, or a poor quality one which did not perform the task well, and would not be reliable in service. Water pumps can be very important, and therefore you need the right type of pump and it need to be hard wearing.
