The APP HD‑15 is a powerful, high‑flow submersible drainage pump designed for applications where maximum water movement is critical. It is widely trusted by hire fleets, utilities, construction teams, mines and quarries for large‑scale dewatering and flood defence.
For applications requiring very high flow from a readily available 230V or 110V single-phase power supply, the APP HD-15 is often considered one of the best large flood pumps available.
It can move up to 830 litres of water per minute, making it particularly well suited to emergency floodwater removal, major site drainage, quarry dewatering and other applications where water must be removed quickly.
Unlike many pumps with a comparable output, the HD-15 does not require a three-phase electrical supply or separate control panel. Its 80mm outlet helps maximise flow and reduce friction losses, while the heavy-duty cast construction and ability to handle suspended solids make it suitable for demanding professional use.
The actual flow achieved will depend on the pumping height, hose diameter, hose length and resistance within the installation. Where maximum water movement is the priority, we recommend using the supplied 80mm outlet with suitably sized hose.
The pump is supplied with an 80mm / 3 inch outlet as standard; a 50mm / 2 inch hose tail can be added as an optional extra.

For maximum lifespan during continuous use, operate the pump near the midpoint of its pump curve. The 80mm outlet is intended to maximise flow by minimising friction loss; in some installations 50mm hose may be preferable due to site constraints.

APP HD-15
Figures are for the standard 80mm outlet. With the 50mm outlet adaptor, flow will be lower.
Layflat hose is very affordable but can kink. Depending on your use, you may be better using a reinforced suction delivery hose for your needs.
Suction delivery hose is ideal for pumping up stairs or over obstacles.

With many pump specifications, you will often see a graph, with a curve or a series of curves depending on additional models, these are called pump curves. The pump curve describes the relationship between the flow rate, and the head of the pump.
The head shows how high pumps can pump vertically, with horizontal pumping, we normally use the rule of 10 metres distance will equate to 1 metre in vertical pumping. Always aim to use a pump towards the centre of the curve, as this is the optimal way to use a pump. Using a pump on either edge of the curve will put a lot of stress on the pump, which could cause it to wear out sooner.
