Versatile Pool Pump for Domestic, Commercial & Water Feature Applications

The Speroni SWIMM range is a quiet, continuous-duty swimming pool pump designed for a wide range of applications, including:

  • Domestic and residential pools
  • Commercial and public swimming pools
  • Water features and ponds

This makes it a strong all-round option where flexibility, reliability and consistent performance are required.

Unlike many standard pool pumps, the SWIMM range is built to handle not just clean water, but also water containing small suspended debris, making it a more versatile option for real-world pool and water feature systems.

All models come with a 2-year manufacturer’s warranty.

Where the SWIMM Range Works Best

The SWIMM range is ideal for:

  • Private swimming pools
  • Public and commercial pools
  • Water features and ponds
  • Circulation systems with light debris
  • Installations requiring continuous 24-hour running

This is a strong all-rounder where reliability and flexibility matter.

Why Choose the Speroni SWIMM Pump?

  • Designed for continuous duty (24/7 operation)
  • Quiet running swimming pool pump
  • Also suitable for ponds and water features
  • Handles clean water and light debris
  • Self-priming with up to 7m suction lift
  • Suitable for both domestic and commercial use
  • Easy to maintain and service

Build and Design

The pump body is engineered from tough thermoplastic and manufactured with a stainless steel shaft. It handles clean water and water with floating debris or small, non-abrasive suspended solids; it is not suitable for sand, silt or other abrasive material.

The SWIMM range is designed for durability and long-term use:

  • Thermoplastic pump body and impeller
  • Stainless steel motor shaft
  • NBR mechanical seal
  • IP55 rated motor (dust and water protected)

The design includes:

  • Removable filter basket for debris capture
  • Clear inspection lid for quick checks
  • Union connections, allowing the pump to be removed without disturbing pipework

This makes maintenance far easier compared with fixed pipe installations.

Performance and Models

Seven models are available: five 230V single phase and two 400V three phase:

  • SWIMM 500 – 250 L/min (0.37kW) – small pools / low demand
  • SWIMM 750 – 275 L/min (0.55kW) – typical domestic pools
  • SWIMM 1000 – 350 L/min (0.75kW) – larger systems
  • SWIMM 1500 – 450 L/min (1.10kW) – high demand / commercial
  • SWIMM 2000 – 450 L/min (1.5kW) - highest flow on single phase
  • SWIMM 3000T IE3 – 450 L/min (2.2kW) - 400V three-phase
  • SWIMM 4000T IE3 – 450 L/min (2.4kW) - 400V three-phase

IE3 is an international energy efficiency standard for premium-efficiency electric motors.

Flow rates and performance will vary depending on pipework, system layout and head conditions.

Installation and Compatibility

  • 1.5” pipework (48.3mm) – SWIMM 500 / 750 / 1000
  • 2” pipework (60.3mm) – SWIMM 1500 /2000/ 3000T / 4000T (Includes reducers for 1½” pipework)

Supplied with swivel unions to enable the pump to be removed for maintenance without disturbing the pipe system. The pipe connections are designed to be fitted to rigid plastic
pipe with an outside diameter of 48.3mm or 60.3mm. In addition, they also have female BSP connections to enable a male BSP hose tail to be fitted and a flexible hose attached.

Models from SWIMM 500 to SWIMM 1000 can be fitted with 1½″ (40 mm) BSP male hose tails, allowing connection to flexible suction/delivery hose for applications such as water features.

Models from SWIMM 1500 and above have 1½″ and 2″ BSP female connections, so they can be fitted with 1½″ (40 mm) or 2″ (50 mm) BSP male hose tails where flexible hose is preferred.

Operating Conditions

  • Suitable for liquids between +5°C and +35°C
  • Designed for:
    • Clean water
    • Water with floating debris
  • Maximum ambient temperature: 40°C

Designed for Typical Pool Installations

The SWIMM range can be installed below, at, or slightly above water level, making it suitable for most standard pool systems.

For optimum performance, installation at or below water level (flooded suction) is recommended. This provides:

  • More efficient, continuous operation
  • Reduced strain on the pump
  • Greater long-term reliability

For installations requiring higher self-priming capability, consider the Plastica AG Series or Plastica Argonaut range.

How to Choose a New Swimming Pool Pump in 5 Easy Steps | FPS Pumps

How to Choose the Correct Swimming Pool Pump:

It is important that the flow rate of the pump is correctly matched to the quantity of water in the pool to ensure the water is circulated effectively. Swimming pool experts rule of thumb is to circulate all the water within an 8-hour period. Normally you may consider replacing a pump like for like, however if it has failed prematurely it may have been the incorrect pump for the system, so we recommend following our

5 Easy Steps on How to Choose the Best Swimming Pool Pump.

Common questions

What is the Speroni SWIMM suitable for, and can it handle dirty water?

The SWIMM is a continuous-duty circulation pump for chlorinated swimming pool water, private and public pools, water features and ponds. It handles clean water and water with floating debris or small, non-abrasive suspended solids, at 5 to 35°C. It is not for sand, silt or abrasive water, sewage or floodwater draining. A removable filter basket traps debris before the impeller.

Which SWIMM size do I need for my pool?

Work out your pool volume and divide by the pump's flow to get turnover time. Maximum flows are 250 litres per minute (15 m³/h) for the SWIMM 500, 275 (16.5 m³/h) for the 750, 350 (21 m³/h) for the 1000, and 450 (27 m³/h) for the 1500 and larger. Example: a 48 m³ pool with a SWIMM 750 turns over in about 3 hours at maximum flow; filter and pipework resistance will lengthen this.

Will the SWIMM fit my pool filter and pipework?

Yes, if your system uses standard rigid plastic pool pipe. The SWIMM 500, 750 and 1000 connect to 48.3mm (1½ inch) pipe; the 1500, 2000, 3000T and 4000T to 60.3mm (2 inch) pipe, with reducers for 1½ inch. Swivel unions are supplied so the pump can come out without disturbing the pipes. It feeds your existing filter; check the filter suits the pump's flow.

Does the SWIMM need to be below water level, or is it self-priming?

It is self-priming with up to 7 metres of suction lift, so it can sit below, at or slightly above water level, but installation at or below water level is recommended. Mount it with the shaft horizontal, as close to the water as possible. For lifts over 5 metres, use a suction pipe wider than the pump inlet, and fit a foot valve with strainer.

Can I connect flexible hose to the SWIMM for a pond or water feature?

Yes. As well as the pipe unions, the connections have female BSP threads for a male BSP hose tail. The SWIMM 500, 750 and 1000 take 1½ inch (40mm) hose tails; the 1500 and above take 1½ or 2 inch (50mm). Use non-collapsing suction and delivery hose on the suction side.
