APP BCV Submersible Sewage Vortex Pumps

The APP BCV range of submersible sewage vortex pumps is designed for demanding wastewater and solids‑handling applications. Built for reliability, high flow rates and excellent solids passage, BCV pumps are a trusted solution across agriculture, sewage treatment and industrial pumping environments. Each pump in the range is supplied with a full 2‑year manufacturer guarantee, giving total confidence in long‑term performance.

What is the APP BCV pump used for?

The APP BCV pump is used for pumping sewage, wastewater and effluent containing suspended solids and fibrous materials. Thanks to its vortex impeller design and wide internal clearances, the BCV range can comfortably handle solids from 50mm up to 80mm, depending on the model. Typical applications include:

  • Sewage treatment plants
  • Pumping stations and lift stations
  • Agricultural waste and slurry transfer
  • Industrial effluent handling
  • Site drainage where solids are present

BCV pumps are not recommended for ponds or water features due to their industrial design and solids‑handling focus.

Construction and Durability

The APP BCV range is built for harsh environments and continuous operation. With the exception of the BCV‑400, all models feature cast iron head covers, impellers and pump casings to maximise strength and wear resistance. Key construction features include:

  • Vortex impeller housed in an extra‑wide pump casing for clog‑free operation
  • 410 stainless steel shaft for enhanced corrosion and wear resistance
  • Double mechanical seals running in an oil chamber to protect the motor
  • Heavy‑duty industrial build suitable for long service life

This robust construction makes the BCV series a dependable choice for commercial and agricultural users who need a pump that can perform day in, day out.

Why choose the APP BCV pump?

The APP BCV pump range offers an excellent balance of performance, durability and value for money. Designed to cope with difficult pumping conditions, these pumps are particularly popular where reliability is critical. Key benefits include:

  • Excellent solids handling from 50mm to 80mm
  • High flow rates with reduced risk of blockage
  • Industrial‑grade materials at a competitive price point
  • Suitable for manual or automatic operation (model dependent)
  • 2‑year manufacturer guarantee

For users looking for a cost‑effective yet heavy‑duty sewage pump, the BCV range delivers proven performance without premium pricing.

Operational Details

APP BCV pumps are supplied ready for immediate installation and operation. All models come with 10 metres of heavy‑duty rubber power cable as standard. For installations requiring guide rails, an optional auto‑coupling kit is available as an upgrade, allowing easy pump removal and maintenance without entering the sump.

Available in a wide range of power outputs and outlet sizes, the BCV series supports both single‑phase and three‑phase installations across industrial and agricultural sites.

01

Water collects

Rainwater or seepage flows in via the gravity inlet and pools at the bottom of the buried chamber.

02

Float arm rises

As the level climbs, the arm float lifts. At the trigger height it closes the switch contact.

03

Pump discharges

The Ama-Drainer N 301 powers up, lifting water through the riser and out to the sewer.

04

Cut-out at low level

The arm drops as water clears. The switch opens and the pump rests until the next cycle.

Water

Foul or surface water collected from the gravity inlet at the side of the chamber.

Pump

Submersible Ama-Drainer N 301, switched by the float arm.

Trigger

Arm float switch closes the circuit at the high-water mark and opens at cut-out.

Chamber

Robust MDPE shell with flanged base to anchor against buoyancy and ground movement.
