WHY IT WORKS

Built for the job

Self-priming jet pump in cast iron for industrial, agricultural, and horticultural water transfer.

The CA(M) cast iron is the industrial and agricultural version of Speroni’s popular self-priming jet pump. Same jet pumping principle as the Speroni CA(M) Self-Priming Jet Pumps, Stainless Steel, but built with a cast iron body for heavier duty applications where corrosion resistance is less critical than robustness.

Jet pumps self-prime using a venturi. A small amount of water is recirculated inside the pump at high velocity to create suction on the inlet line, which draws air out of the suction pipe before the pump can start delivering. This is why jet pumps prime fast and reliably, and it is why they dominate the horticultural and light agricultural self-priming market.

Where the Speroni CA and CAM are Used

Industrial non-potable transfer. Agricultural water supply from tanks, streams, and shallow sources. Horticultural and greenhouse pressurisation. Wash-down systems. Fill-up and top-up applications where the pump sits above the source. Light irrigation systems.

Application: Industry | Processing | Wash-down | Boosting | Transfer

Choosing Between the Speroni CA(M) Pumps

The smaller models suit horticultural and light agricultural duty. The larger models step up to agricultural irrigation and industrial transfer.

Model Coding for Speroni Pumps:

  • An M at the end of the model name (CM, RSM, RVM, CAM) means 230V single-phase.
  • No M means 400V three-phase.
  • CA is a self-priming jet pump.

Cast Iron Versus Stainless Steel

Both CA(M) ranges are the same jet pump design with different materials.

  • Cast iron is robust, lower cost, suitable for general industrial and agricultural work.
  • Stainless steel is corrosion resistant, suitable for outdoor installation, and environments where cast iron would rust.

Most customers choose cast iron unless they have a specific reason to choose stainless.

The CA(M) cast iron range goes up to larger sizes than the stainless version, making it the correct choice for larger agricultural applications.

Optional Accessories

A pressure controller can be added for dry-run protection and automatic operation. This turns the CA(M) into a simple booster unit without needing a pressure vessel.

Important: WRAS Approval

This pump is not WRAS approved and is not for drinking water supply. It is suitable for irrigation, sprinklers, fire systems, rainwater harvesting, cooling loops, and industrial or agricultural water.
