Speroni CA(M) Self-Priming Jet Pumps, Stainless Steel
Self-priming jet pump in stainless steel for garden, rainwater, and horticultural use where corrosion resistance matters.
The CA(M) stainless steel range is Speroni Pump's popular horticultural and light industrial self-priming pump. Five models cover most small transfer and rainwater boosting jobs where the pump needs to sit above the water source.
Jet pumps use a clever design trick to self-prime reliably. A small amount of water is recirculated inside the pump at high velocity, creating a venturi effect that draws air out of the suction line. This is why jet pumps prime faster and more reliably than other self-priming designs, and why they are the default choice for garden water supply and shallow source pumping.
The stainless steel body version is chosen over the cast iron CA(M) where corrosion is a concern: outdoor installations exposed to weather, water with a higher mineral content, or where the pump will sit unused for long periods between duties.
Where the Speroni CA(M) is Used
Garden and allotment watering from a tank or stream. Shallow source pumping where the water is within 8 metres of the surface. Rainwater harvesting pressurisation (with appropriate air gap). Small irrigation systems and sprinklers. Horticultural and small greenhouse use. Light industrial wash-down and transfer.
Choosing Between the Models
The smaller models (CAM80 and CAM88) suit light garden and transfer work. The CAM95 steps up to higher flow for irrigation duties. The CAM198 is the most powerful in the stainless range and handles larger systems. The CAM80 is also available in 110V for construction site use where 110V centre-tapped-earth is mandated.
If you are replacing a pump, match like-for-like on flow and head. If you are new to this, tell us the suction lift, delivery height, and approximate flow you need and we will narrow it down for you.
Stainless vs Cast Iron CA(M)
Both are the same jet pump design. The stainless version costs more and resists corrosion better. The cast iron version is the default for general agricultural and industrial use where corrosion is not a concern. If the pump will see chlorinated water, outdoor weather exposure, or any hint of salt, choose stainless.
Accessories
A protection frame is available (FR002 or FR005 depending on whether a Logicpress pressure controller is fitted) for installations where the pump is portable or needs protection from knocks.
A Frame is available for the Models CA(M)80 & CA(M)88.
Important: WRAS Approval
This pump is not WRAS approved and is not for drinking water supply. It is suitable for irrigation, sprinklers, fire systems, rainwater harvesting, cooling loops, and industrial or agricultural water.
