WHY IT WORKS

Built for the job

Tsurumi LB-480 Submersible Contractor Pump

The compact 0.48kW dewatering pump for light site drainage.

The Tsurumi LB480 is the smallest, lightest model in Tsurumi's hire-industry-standard LB Series – ideal where you need reliable dewatering without the bulk. Weighing just 10.4kg, it's the go-to choice for light site drainage, basement and excavation pump-out, and groundwater control.

Performance you can rely on

  • Power: 0.48kW (110V or 230V single-phase)
  • Max flow: 225 L/min
  • Max head: 11m
  • Discharge outlet: 50mm (set horizontally or vertically to prevent hose kinks)
  • Free passage: 6mm solids

Built to last in dirty water

The LB480 uses Tsurumi's proven semi-vortex chromium-iron impeller, a double silicon-carbide mechanical seal, and the oil-lifter system that lubricates the seal in any operating position. Rubber and urethane components resist abrasion from sand, silt and suspended solids, while the top-discharge design improves motor cooling for extended running in seepage and low-water conditions.

Manual or Automatic

Available as a manual pump, or automatic with your choice of switch:

  • Pendant Float Switch – approx. on level 300mm / off level 80mm. Simple and reliable for sumps and general drainage.
  • Sensor Switch – compact stainless-steel probe system; on level 115mm, off level adjustable between 114mm and 20mm with optional extension probes. Keeps water constantly below the probe level on demand. Optional 170mm sensor extension probes available, enabling pump-down to circa 1mm Buy Sensor Extension Probes here.

HOW-TO

How-to videos

What is the Difference between a Manual & Automatic Water Pump?

Manual Pump - A pump that does not have a float control or pressure switch to start and stop. It will require an operator to control it.

Automatic Pump - A pump that has a float control or pressure switch to start and stop without an operator.

A float switch is a level controller that has a buoyant, water-tight device that lies
on a liquid, actuating a micro-switch when the level rises or falls, turning a pump on or off.

Which Hose Should I use with my Water Pump?

Layflat hose is very affordable but can kink. Depending on your use, you may be better using a reinforced suction delivery hose for your needs.

Suction delivery hose is ideal for pumping up stairs or over obstacles.

Jonathan Martin explains the differences to help you choose which hose is best for your scenario.
