Built for the job

Tsurumi LB Series Submersible Pumps – LB480, LB800 & LB1500

Heavy Duty, Durable Site Drainage Pumps Built for Tough Conditions.

The Tsurumi LB Series are a trusted range of single-phase submersible contractors’ pumps, recognised as hire-industry standard since the 1970s. Designed for demanding site conditions, the LB range delivers reliable performance in construction, utilities, and flood defence applications.

Each model in the LB range is engineered for long service life, low maintenance, and dependable operation in harsh environments.

Robust Design for Sand, Silt & Dirty Water

The LB Series features a proven hydraulic design with a double mechanical seal and Tsurumi’s oil-lifter system, ensuring seal lubrication in any operating position.

Rubber and urethane components provide exceptional resistance to abrasion from water containing sand, silt, and other suspended solids.

The pump uses a top-discharge outlet, to enhance cooling around the motor, allowing extended operation in seepage or low-water conditions.

Designed for Versatility and Durability

On the LB480 and LB800, the discharge outlet can be set horizontally or vertically, ideal for preventing hose kinks and allowing users to direct water exactly where it’s needed.

The LB1500 features a fixed vertical discharge outlet for maximum strength and performance.

Flow Rates & Performance

  • LB-480: Max flow 225 L/min, 11 m head
  • LB-800: Max flow 310 L/min, 15 m head
  • LB-1500: Max flow 420 L/min, 17.5 m head

Suitable fluids: rainwater, groundwater, standing water, dirty water

Operating temperature: 0 – 35°C

The range includes the LB480 (480 W), LB800 (800 W) and LB1500 (1.5 kW), providing a choice of power levels to suit everything from light dewatering to heavy-duty site drainage. Known for their long-term reliability and low maintenance requirements, these pumps offer exceptional value and proven performance across a wide range of applications.

Automatic & Manual Models Available

All LB pumps are available in manual versions. The LB480 and LB800 can also be supplied in automatic with a choice of float switches:

Pendant Float Switch (Automatic) – Traditional Float Switch

A floating ball-bearing polypropylene switch housed in a waterproof casing. Simple, reliable, and suitable for large sumps or general drainage for either portable use or fixed installations.

LB480 Pendant Float

  • Approx. on level: 300 mm
  • Approx. off level: 80 mm

LB800 Pendant Float

  • Approx. on level: 300 mm
  • Approx. off level: 60 mm

Sensor Switch (Automatic)

A compact stainless-steel probe system ideal for both portable use and fixed installations.
When water touches both probes, the pump activates and continues running for one minute after the level drops. However, if the water touches both probes again within this time, the pump continues pumping for another minute and will continue like this on demand, so keeping the water level constantly below the level of the probes at all times.

LB480 Auto Sensor Model

  • On level: 115 mm
  • Off level: Adjustable between 114 mm and 20 mm, depending on setup and whether optional extension probes are fitted.

LB800 Auto Sensor Model

  • On level: 170 mm
  • Off level: Adjustable between 169 mm and 20 mm with optional extension probes.

High-Grade Components for Long Service Life

HOW-TO

How-to videos

What is the Difference between a Manual & Automatic Water Pump?

Manual Pump - A pump that does not have a float control or pressure switch to start and stop. It will require an operator to control it.

Automatic Pump - A pump that has a float control or pressure switch to start and stop without an operator.

A float switch is a level controller that has a buoyant, water-tight device that lies
on a liquid, actuating a micro-switch when the level rises or falls, turning a pump on or off.

Which Hose Should I use with my Water Pump?

Layflat hose is very affordable but can kink. Depending on your use, you may be better using a reinforced suction delivery hose for your needs.

Suction delivery hose is ideal for pumping up stairs or over obstacles.

Jonathan Martin explains the differences to help you choose which hose is best for your scenario.
