WHY IT WORKS

Built for the job

Automatic Puddle Pump with Compact Float for Shallow Water.

The BPS-100EA is an automatic puddle pump designed specifically for restricted spaces and shallow water control. It features a compact float switch that allows reliable automatic operation in narrow sumps and tight chambers, and it can pump down to as low as 3 mm. (Please note: the pump can be fully submerged, but is also designed to operate in partial immersion.)

Why choose the BPS-100EA

If you need automatic pumping but do not have the space for a pendant float to move freely, the BPS-100EA is the go-to option. Its compact float makes it ideal for narrow sumps and even flat areas with minimal water depth, helping keep levels low. The float switch operates at very low levels, switching on at around 30 mm and off at around 3 mm, making it particularly useful for shallow pooling situations.

Applications

Ideal for:

  • Narrow sumps and confined chambers
  • Shallow pooling on flat surfaces (where water levels must be kept very low)
  • Basements and cellars
  • Light drainage and general water transfer
  • Domestic, trade and industrial low-level drainage

Not recommended for ponds or water features.

Construction and Build Quality

Like the rest of the BPS range, the BPS-100EA uses a top discharge, water-cooled design suitable for tight access and partial immersion. It is built from durable thermoplastic materials and uses an open impeller with a mechanical seal arrangement designed for wear resistance. The compact float assembly is specifically chosen to reduce obstruction risk in tight spaces while maintaining dependable level control.

Key Features

  • Compact float switch for restricted spaces and shallow level control
  • Very low switching levels: on at 30 mm, off at 3 mm
  • Pumps down to as low as 3 mm
  • Top discharge design for installations where space is limited
  • Can operate partially submerged and handle short periods of dry running

Warranty

All APP water pumps are supplied with a 2‑year manufacturer’s warranty.

What is the Difference between a Manual & Automatic Water Pump?

Manual Pump - A pump that does not have a float control or pressure switch to start and stop. It will require an operator to control it.

Automatic Pump - A pump that has a float control or pressure switch to start and stop without an operator.

A float switch is a level controller that has a buoyant, water-tight device that lies
on a liquid, actuating a micro-switch when the level rises or falls, turning a pump on or off.

Which Hose Should I use with my Water Pump?

Layflat hose is very affordable but can kink. Depending on your use, you may be better using a reinforced suction delivery hose for your needs.

Suction delivery hose is ideal for pumping up stairs or over obstacles.

Jonathan Martin explains the differences to help you choose which hose is best for your scenario.

What are the Different Types of Float Switches?

Each type of float switch has its advantages and is best suited for specific scenarios. The choice of float switch depends on factors such as the type of liquid, space constraints, required accuracy, and the pump's intended application.
