Floating Tree Pond Pump – Floating Fountain and Pond Aerator

The Floating Tree Pond Pump is a ready-to-install floating fountain system designed to create an immediate water display while improving surface circulation and aeration within a pond or lake.

Unlike a conventional bottom-mounted pond pump, the Floating Tree remains at the water surface and rises or falls as the water level changes. It does not need to be connected to fixed discharge pipework, making it a practical choice where a decorative fountain is required without constructing a permanent pump chamber or plumbing system.

Supplied with an integrated 450W submersible pump, the Floating Tree circulates up to 220 litres of water per minute and can create a fountain approximately 150cm high and 450cm wide.

What is the Floating Tree Pond Pump used for?

  • Creating an instant decorative fountain in ponds and lakes
  • Improving surface circulation and aeration
  • Adding movement and visual interest to still water
  • Providing a fountain where water levels rise and fall
  • Avoiding permanent underwater pipework
  • Reducing disturbance of mud and settled sediment
  • Residential, commercial and landscape water features
  • Continuous pond and lake circulation

What is the best floating fountain for a pond or lake?

The Floating Tree is an excellent choice where an immediate fountain display is required without installing a permanent bottom-mounted pump and fixed pipework.

The pump, floating structure and fountain nozzle are supplied as one integrated system. Once assembled, levelled and anchored, the unit can be positioned on the water and connected to a suitable 230V electrical supply.

Its floating design is particularly useful for ponds and lakes where water levels fluctuate, as the pump and fountain nozzle move with the surface of the water.

Does the Floating Tree need to be plumbed in?

No external discharge hose or fixed fountain pipework is normally required. The integrated pump draws water from beneath the floating assembly and discharges it directly through the fountain nozzle.

This makes the Floating Tree quicker and simpler to install than many conventional fountains, although it must still be securely anchored and connected to a suitable electrical supply.

Can a floating fountain operate with changing water levels?

Yes. Because the Floating Tree remains on the surface, the pump and fountain nozzle rise and fall with the water level.

This helps maintain a consistent relationship between the nozzle and the water surface, making it suitable for ponds and lakes where seasonal rainfall, evaporation or water abstraction causes levels to change.

Does the Floating Tree aerate a pond?

Yes. The fountain increases surface movement and sprays water into the air, helping to improve surface aeration and circulation while also creating a decorative display.

This can be beneficial in ponds and lakes where the water has become still or stagnant. However, the effectiveness of any aeration system will depend on the size, depth, shape and condition of the water body.

For deep lakes or applications requiring circulation throughout the full water column, a specialist diffused-air aeration system may also need to be considered.

Will a floating fountain remove algae, duckweed or watermeal?

Improved surface movement and circulation may help reduce stagnant conditions in which some surface growths develop. However, the Floating Tree should not be regarded as a guaranteed treatment for algae, duckweed, watermeal or poor water quality.

Excessive growth can be influenced by nutrient levels, temperature, sunlight, water depth and other site-specific conditions. Where water quality or safety is a concern, the growth should be properly identified and specialist advice or testing sought.

Will the Floating Tree disturb pond sediment?

The pump is suspended beneath the floating assembly rather than sitting directly on the bed of the pond or lake. This helps reduce disturbance of mud, silt and settled debris.

A minimum depth of 60cm of clear water is required between the pump and any settled mud, slime or sediment.

How large is the Floating Tree fountain display?

The integrated nozzle can create a fountain approximately:

  • Up to 150cm high
  • Up to 450cm wide

The exact fountain height and width will depend on the installation, adjustment of the floating assembly and operating conditions.

How is the Floating Tree kept in position?

The floating assembly includes multiple anchoring points so that it can be secured using suitable ropes or lines.

The anchoring arrangement should hold the unit in the required position while allowing for normal changes in water level. It should also prevent the fountain from reaching the bank, structures, vegetation or submerged obstructions.

Can the Floating Tree run continuously?

Yes. The integrated submersible pump is suitable for continuous pond and water-feature circulation, allowing the fountain to operate throughout the day and night where required.

Regular inspection and cleaning are recommended to prevent leaves, vegetation or other debris from obstructing the pump inlet or fountain nozzle.

Construction and Durability

The Floating Tree system is manufactured from durable thermoplastic materials designed for prolonged outdoor and aquatic use.

The floating assembly incorporates three ballast tanks, which provide stability and allow the fountain to be levelled on the water. Its lightweight modular construction also makes assembly, installation and repositioning relatively straightforward.
