Key Features & Benefits of the Evak Hippo 100 Sewage Pump

Reliable performance for everyday sewage & wastewater

The Hippo 100 offers a strong, dependable pumping solution designed for typical domestic and light-commercial foul water applications. It’s well-matched to wastewater with standard solids content and is built to keep systems running smoothly.

50mm solids handling – ideal for most domestic sewage systems

A 50mm free passage is exactly what’s required for the majority of UK foul water setups. It comfortably handles common solids found in domestic waste without needing the complexity of cutter or grinder pumps, making it efficient and cost-effective. The pumps feature recessed vortex impellers.

Horizontal or Vertical Discharge Options

Strong maximum head for typical installations

With a maximum head around 11m, the Hippo 100 provides more than enough lift for most basements, pumping chambers, garden offices, and standard discharge lines. This makes it suitable for the vast majority of UK pumping scenarios.

Automatic or manual versions available

The automatic version is designed to be plugged into a 230v supply, with an auto float switch, turning off and on as required. The manual version is 3 phase and can be used with a separate float switch.

Durable construction built for long-term use

Evak pumps are known for robust materials, good seal integrity, and reliable motors designed to cope with frequent cycling.

Safe operating depth & temperature range

With a 10m submersible rating and a 40°C max liquid temperature, it is perfectly suited for typical domestic sewage temperatures and chamber depths, offering reliable operation.

Affordable, practical solution

This model offers excellent value for money. You get a pump that handles the needs of most household sewage applications without jumping to more expensive commercial-grade cutter/grinder units that many customers don’t require.

Simple installation & maintenance

Its straightforward design makes installation easier for installers, and maintenance is uncomplicated thanks to accessible components. This helps reduce long-term servicing costs.

Which Hose Should I use with my Water Pump?

Layflat hose is very affordable but can kink. Depending on your use, you may be better using a reinforced suction delivery hose for your needs.

Suction delivery hose is ideal for pumping up stairs or over obstacles.

Jonathan Martin explains the differences to help you choose which hose is best for your scenario.

    Who We Are

    Who We Are

Flood Protection Solutions Ltd launched floodandwaterpumps.co.uk to make quality water pumps and expert advice easily accessible online. We have a large stock of water pumps which are available with next day delivery. Browse our shop to see the range of water pumps and flood pumps available. Whether you require pumps for flood water, draining construction sites or even for a water feature we have selected the best pumps available.

For a number of years, industry quality pumps were only accessible to trade customers, and domestic users were  left with generally poor-quality water pumps which often failed when used in anger. We have combined high-quality, reliable domestic and industrial pumps into one website which makes the best products available to all.

Flood Protection Solutions Ltd was founded in 2012, and has been supplying flood barriers, water pumps and consultancy services for the past 12 years. As part of our consultancy work, we extensively travel the UK, visiting homeowners, businesses and agencies to advise on flood protection schemes. We realised that too many people had previously purchased either the wrong type of water pump, or a poor quality one which did not perform the task well, and would not be reliable in service. Water pumps can be very important, and therefore you need the right type of pump and it need to be hard wearing.
