FPS Iguazu Sump 635 Twin Packaged Pump Station
The FPS Iguazu Sump 635 Twin is the two-pump version of our most popular station. It pairs a 190 litre high-grade MDPE chamber with two automatic AMA Drainer 301 submersible pumps, each with a maximum flow rate of 166 litres per minute and a maximum rated head of 6.5 metres.
The second pump is there for resilience: if one pump fails or is being serviced, the other continues to work. It is the option to choose where a failure would mean water ingress.
What it is for
The same duties as the single Iguazu Sump 635: groundwater, light grey water from showers and hand basins, and flood water. Water enters through a perimeter channel, a 110mm pipe connection or the clear opening at the top, and the chamber can be drilled to allow groundwater in when installed externally. It is a common specification for Type C basement waterproofing, where continuity of pumping matters.

How the two pumps work together
Added pump resilience: The float switches can be set at different levels so that one pump operates as the primary pump. The second pump only activates if the water rises further because the first pump has failed or cannot cope with the incoming flow. This duty-and-assist arrangement provides additional pumping capacity and system redundancy, helping to reduce the risk of flooding caused by a single pump failure or unusually heavy water ingress.
Where both pumps run together the combined output is up to 332 litres per minute. Note that a battery backup supports one pump only; two systems are needed to back up both.
Flow rate and head
Each AMA Drainer 301 has a maximum flow rate of 166 litres per minute and a maximum rated head of 6.5 metres, so the pair can move up to 332 litres per minute when both run together.
These are the two ends of the pump curve rather than a single duty point: at 6.5 metres the flow has fallen to zero, and the full 166 litres per minute is only available with no lift at all. Understanding flow rate: To put a pump’s flow rate into perspective, a typical outside tap delivers around 10 to 15 litres of water per minute. A pump rated at 100 litres per minute could therefore move roughly the same volume of water as 7 to 10 outside taps running at once.
As with the single 635, the value here is that the pumps are well matched to the chamber rather than oversized. Staggering the on levels means the second pump only starts when the level keeps rising, which avoids both pumps short cycling on a small inflow. Installation and discharge
Can be installed internally or externally depending on site requirements.
The chamber should be installed on a concrete bed and surrounded with concrete to prevent flotation and movement. Depending on the desired installation, these chambers are often connected with fixed PVC delivery pipe, or with suction and delivery hose, matched to the outlet size. The chamber outlet terminates in a 1¼ inch male thread and discharges through 32mm pipework, so use 32mm rigid pipe and fittings secured with solvent weld, or suction and delivery hose. The hose option is made up from three parts: a hose tail, the hose, and a hose clip.
When installed internally, the chamber would usually be fitted with a recessed, sealed lid, allowing the surrounding floor finish to be continued across it while helping to contain odours and moisture.
Supplied as a complete plug and play unit, ready for installation. Some on-site work is required, including reconnecting components, drilling entry holes for cables and routing wiring through a suitable conduit. Read our guide to installing a sump pump.
