WHY IT WORKS

Built for the job

Umbra Pompe Eurojet Submersible Borehole Pump | 4 Inch Multi Stage Pump for Wells and Boreholes

The Umbra Pompe Eurojet is a 4 inch multi stage borehole pump built for clean water supply from narrow wells and boreholes. With a stainless steel jacket, single phase 230V motor and impressive head performance, it is a simple, reliable choice for domestic, agricultural and light industrial water supply.

What is the Eurojet pump used for?

• Drawing clean water from 4 inch boreholes
• Domestic water supply and pressurisation
• Garden and crop irrigation systems
• Agricultural and horticultural use
• Spraying and small irrigation networks
• Lifting water from wells, tanks and larger chambers

Construction and Durability

The Eurojet has a 100 mm stainless steel outer body to suit standard 4 inch wells, with multi stage impellers stacked to deliver high pressure even at depth. The motor is oil cooled using non toxic oil and includes an integral starting capacitor, giving steady performance and helping dissipate heat during continuous duty. It is built to the EN 60335-2-41 standard for water pumps and meets the ErP Eco Design requirements with an MEI above 0.4. The Eurojet is rated to a maximum submersion depth of 17 metres and is suitable for water with very small suspended particles, with an optional 80 micron stainless steel sand filter available to extend service life in dirtier wells.

Why choose the Eurojet?

The Eurojet is the simple, dependable option in the borehole pump range. A manual version is available for use behind a pressure controller, and an automatic version with pendant float switch is supplied for tanks and larger chambers where the float has room to move. The 230V single phase supply makes it easy to wire in at a domestic property and the 1 inch outlet pairs neatly with standard 25 mm hose tails. For owners of 4 inch boreholes who want a reliable, proven pump without unnecessary complexity, the Eurojet is hard to beat. If you need more pressure or depth, step up to the Acuasub.

Drinking Water and WRAS

Umbra Pompe describes these pumps as suitable for potable water, although they are not WRAS approved. WRAS approval is generally intended for products connected to the public mains supply and is not normally required for a private borehole.

For drinking-water use, the complete system should be suitable and the water tested where appropriate.

Common questions

Can the Eurojet pump dirty or sandy water?

No, the Eurojet is a clean water pump for 4 inch boreholes, wells and tanks. It tolerates only very fine suspended particles (no more than 50 g/m³ per Umbra Pompe), so it is not for sewage, silty or abrasive water. For wells that carry some sand, add the optional 80 micron stainless steel sand filter. The water must be between 0°C and 35°C.

What size borehole does the Eurojet fit, and how deep can it go?

The Eurojet has a 99 to 100 mm stainless steel body that fits standard 4 inch boreholes. It can be submerged up to 17 metres below the water surface and comes with a 20 metre rubber cable. Keep it at least 100 mm off the bottom. Use the manual version in a borehole: the automatic version's pendant float needs room to move, so it suits tanks and larger chambers.

How much water and pressure does the Eurojet give?

The Eurojet delivers up to 46 litres per minute and a maximum head of 60 metres, from a 0.55 kW, 230V single-phase motor. As a guide, 10 metres of head is about 1 bar. Flow falls as you approach maximum head, so the deeper the water and the higher the pressure you need, the less water you get.

Does the Eurojet need a pressure controller or dry-run protection?

The manual Eurojet runs whenever powered, so for a house supply that starts on demand, fit a pressure controller in the delivery line (not supplied). The automatic version uses a pendant float switch and stops at the minimum water level. Umbra Pompe says the pump must never run dry and that pumps without a float need a probe-type minimum-level control fitted.

What hose and fittings do I need for the Eurojet?

The Eurojet has a 1 inch (G 1) outlet, so add a 25 mm male BSP hose tail and 25 mm high pressure delivery hose or matching rigid pipe. The box contains the pump, a 20 metre rubber power cable, the pendant float on the automatic version and the 80 micron sand filter if selected. Hose tail, hose, clips and pressure controller are ordered separately.
