WHY IT WORKS

Built for the job

Mizar 60/S – 316 Stainless Steel Submersible Pumps

The Mizar 60/S is a heavy-duty submersible pump manufactured from upgraded 316 stainless steel for superior corrosion and chemical resistance.

Designed for seawater, saltwater, light chemicals, and final effluent, they offer robust performance in demanding industrial environments. The Mizar 60/S handles soft solids up to 10 mm and features biodegradable lubrication oil for environmental protection.

Difference Between Mizar and Mizar S Models

The key difference between the Mizar and Mizar S submersible pumps is their material construction and level of chemical resistance. The standard Mizar is manufactured from 304‑grade stainless steel and is intended for domestic and light industrial dirty water applications. In contrast, the Mizar S features 316‑grade stainless steel, offering significantly enhanced corrosion resistance and making it suitable for chemicals, seawater, septic tanks and final effluent (not raw sewage).

Mizar 60/S or Arvex/S?

Both are 316 stainless steel pumps with the same chemical and seawater corrosion resistance. Choose the Mizar 60/S for drainage, transfer and seawater duties with solids up to 10mm. Choose the Arvex/S, with its vortex impeller, where the liquid carries larger or fibrous solids. For general clean and dirty water where chemical resistance is not needed, the 304 stainless Mizar and Mizar VOX range is the lower-cost choice.

Not recommended for ponds or water features.

Mizar models feature upgraded sealing components, including silicon carbide mechanical seals, providing improved resistance to aggressive or lightly corrosive liquids.

Common questions

Can the Mizar 60/S pump seawater or chemicals?

Yes. The Mizar 60/S is built in 316 stainless steel with Viton seals for seawater, saltwater, light chemicals, aggressive liquids, clean and dirty water and final effluent, at 0 to 35°C, with solids up to 10mm. It is not for ponds or water features, and not for raw sewage with toilet waste or fibrous solids. Check your liquid is compatible with 316 stainless steel and Viton before ordering.

Mizar 60/S or Arvex/S: which should I buy?

Both are 316 stainless steel pumps with the same chemical and seawater corrosion resistance. Choose the Mizar 60/S, sold on this listing in 110V or 230V, manual or automatic, for drainage, transfer and seawater duties with solids up to 10mm. Choose the Arvex/S, which has a vortex impeller and its own product page, where the liquid carries larger or fibrous solids.

At what level does the automatic Mizar 60/S switch on and off?

The automatic Mizar 60/S has a pendant float switch that turns the pump on at about 220mm of liquid and off at about 90mm. The manual version has no float and runs until you switch it off. The pump tolerates short periods of dry running and can work partly submerged.

How much will the Mizar 60/S pump at different heights?

Up to about 175 litres per minute, with a maximum head of 10 metres. As a guide, it gives roughly 100 litres per minute at 5.6 metres of head, 75 litres per minute at 6.8 metres and 50 litres per minute at 8 metres. Head includes the vertical lift plus losses in the hose, so long or narrow runs reduce the flow further.

What outlet and hose does the Mizar 60/S use?

The Mizar 60/S has a 1¼-inch female BSP outlet. A 32mm hose tail is sold separately, so add a male BSP hose tail in that size to your order, then use 32mm hose with a hose clip. For chemical or seawater duties, make sure the hose, tail and fittings you choose are also suitable for the liquid.
