Tsurumi LSC1.4S Manual Puddle Sucker Pump - Removes Water Down to 1mm

The Tsurumi LSC1.4S Manual is a professional puddle sucker pump designed for controlled removal of shallow floodwater and standing water from flat surfaces.

Its specialist design allows it to pump water down to approximately 1mm, making it ideal for floors, basements, garages, lift shafts, flat roofs and construction sites where a conventional submersible pump would leave a deeper layer of water behind.

The manual LSC1.4S delivers up to 170 litres per minute, has a maximum head of 11 metres and is available in either 110V or 230V.

It is manufactured by Tsurumi Pumps and supplied with a 3-year product guarantee.

What is the Tsurumi LSC1.4S Manual used for?

  • Removing shallow floodwater from buildings
  • Draining garages, basements and cellars
  • Clearing water from commercial and industrial floors
  • Lift shaft and service pit drainage
  • Flat roof drainage
  • Construction site dewatering
  • Utilities and infrastructure work
  • Hire fleet applications
  • Emergency and portable water removal

Is the Tsurumi LSC1.4S a manual or automatic pump?

This product listing is the manual Tsurumi LSC1.4S. It starts when the electrical supply is switched on and stops when the power is switched off.

It does not include a float switch, water sensor or automatic control panel. This gives the operator direct control and allows the pump to continue working at very low water levels.

The manual version should be monitored during use and switched off once pumping is complete.

What is the best manual puddle pump for floodwater?

The Tsurumi LSC1.4S from Flood & Water Pumps is widely regarded as one of the leading professional manual puddle pumps for floodwater and surface-water removal.

It combines a maximum flow rate of 170 litres per minute with the ability to pump down to approximately 1mm. Its robust construction, built-in non-return valve and top-discharge cooling arrangement also make it well suited to repeated use by contractors, utilities, hire fleets and flood-response teams.

It is particularly suitable where an operator will be present and wants direct control over when the pump starts and stops.

How low can the manual Tsurumi LSC1.4S pump?

The manual LSC1.4S can remove standing water down to approximately 1mm.

The specially designed bottom plate allows water to enter the pump at an extremely low level. For the best result, the pump should be placed on a reasonably flat surface with a clear route for water to reach the inlet.

The final residual depth may vary where the floor is uneven, debris obstructs the inlet or water is trapped within isolated hollows.

How much water can the Tsurumi LSC1.4S pump?

The LSC1.4S delivers a maximum flow rate of up to 170 litres per minute and has a maximum head of 11 metres.

Maximum flow and maximum head occur at different points on the pump curve. The actual flow will depend on the vertical pumping height, hose diameter, hose length, bends, fittings and other resistance within the discharge arrangement.

Can the Tsurumi LSC1.4S pump dirty floodwater?

The LSC1.4S is suitable for drainage water and typical floodwater containing sand, silt and small suspended material. It can handle solids up to approximately 5mm.

It is not intended for raw sewage, heavily contaminated water or water containing large stones, leaves or fibrous material.

Does the LSC1.4S prevent water flowing back?

Yes. An integral non-return valve helps prevent water held within the discharge hose from flowing back through the pump when it is switched off.

This is particularly useful during low-level drainage, cellars or basements, because returning hose water could otherwise refill part of the area that has just been pumped dry.

Can the outlet be positioned horizontally or vertically?

Yes. The discharge outlet can be positioned horizontally or vertically to suit the installation and hose route.

Choosing the most suitable outlet position can reduce hose kinking and help maintain flow where the hose must travel upwards, around equipment or beneath an obstruction.

Can the manual LSC1.4S operate at low water levels?

Yes. Its top-discharge design creates an air and water-cooling route around the motor, allowing the pump to operate for extended periods in shallow and seepage-water conditions.

The pump should not be deliberately left running dry for prolonged periods. It should be switched off once water is no longer reaching the inlet.

Should I choose the manual or automatic Tsurumi LSC1.4S?

Choose the manual LSC1.4S for portable flood response, temporary drainage and situations where an operator will control the pump directly.

Choose the automatic LSC1.4S where the pump needs to respond to changing water levels without someone being present to switch it on and off. The automatic version is more appropriate for fixed drainage systems, narrow sumps, lift shafts and recurring water ingress.

Should I choose the 110V or 230V model?

  • 110V: Normally selected for construction sites and professional environments using a suitable 110V centre-tapped transformer.
  • 230V: Suitable for connection to a compatible standard UK domestic or commercial electrical supply.

Always confirm the available electrical supply before selecting the pump.

Should I choose a 25mm or 50mm outlet?

The Tsurumi LSC1.4S is supplied with a 25mm outlet as standard. A 50mm outlet option can be selected when ordering.

A larger-diameter hose generally creates less friction resistance, particularly over longer distances. The best outlet size will depend on the required hose route, storage space and the flow needed at the actual pumping height.

Construction and Build Quality

The Tsurumi LSC1.4S is engineered for demanding professional use. Its pressed-steel outer casing protects the motor, while the cast-aluminium pump stand provides strength and stability.

Rubber and urethane wear components provide resistance to abrasive site water containing suspended sand and silt. A silicon carbide mechanical seal and oil-lifter arrangement help provide reliable seal lubrication in different operating positions.

Prefer an automatic puddle pump?

Choose the Tsurumi LSC1.4S Automatic where water may return and the pump needs to start and stop without manual intervention. Its compact probe-based control works without a conventional float switch, making it ideal for narrow sumps, lift shafts, service pits and fixed low-level drainage installations.

How to Attach a Hose to a Water Pump

Floodandwaterpumps.co.uk has been specially designed to simplify the types of pumps into categories to make choosing the best pump for your requirements easy.

We are often asked how to attach the hose to a pump, and have created this 'how-to' video to demonstrate. The pump and accessories listed are all available at floodandwaterpumps.co.uk

Which Hose Should I use with my Water Pump?

Layflat hose is very affordable but can kink. Depending on your use, you may be better using a reinforced suction delivery hose for your needs.

Suction delivery hose is ideal for pumping up stairs or over obstacles.

Jonathan Martin explains the differences to help you choose which hose is best for your scenario.

What are Sensor Extension Probes?

As an optional extra, extension probes are available for the Auto Sensor model, which enable pumping down between 85mm and circa 1mm. The extensions are an optional extra and available here:

170mm Sensor Extension Probes.
