Best Budget Puddle Pump – Pumps Down to 2mm

What is the SPP2‑4 pump used for?

Designed and manufactured by Stream Pumps, the SPP2‑4 puddle sucker pump is a cost‑effective submersible water pump for clean and slightly dirty water. It is ideal for removing shallow water where a low‑cost, portable solution is required.

  • Removing water from flooded areas
  • Draining flat roofs
  • Clearing garages and basements
  • Emptying water storage containers
  • Emptying hot tubs*

*Use only for emptying unoccupied hot tubs. Allow water to cool before use and flush the pump with clean water afterwards.

Pumping up and out of a basement or over a wall? Consider adding our Non-Return Valve and Hose Tail Kit to stop the water in your hose flowing back through the pump when the level drops.

The pump can be fully submerged but will also operate in partial immersion.

Need automatic operation?

The SPP2-4 is a manual puddle pump, so it needs to be switched on and off as required.

If you want the pump to respond to water automatically, choose the Stream SPP2-4A. It uses a low-level floor sensor to start the pump at approximately 20mm of water and switch it off again at around 10mm.

Buy it as a kit

The SPP2-4 is also sold in two FPS Engineered™ kits, each with the hose and fittings for the job.

A pump on its own does nothing until you have something to run the discharge through. Let our expertise take the guess work out of buying a water pump.

How to Attach a Hose to a Water Pump

Floodandwaterpumps.co.uk has been specially designed to simplify the types of pumps into categories to make choosing the best pump for your requirements easy.

We are often asked how to attach the hose to a pump, and have created this 'how-to' video to demonstrate. The pump and accessories listed are all available at floodandwaterpumps.co.uk

Which Hose Should I use with my Water Pump?

Layflat hose is very affordable but can kink. Depending on your use, you may be better using a reinforced suction delivery hose for your needs.

Suction delivery hose is ideal for pumping up stairs or over obstacles.

Jonathan Martin explains the differences to help you choose which hose is best for your scenario.

What is a Puddle Pump? | Quick Explanation

Puddle pumps are a special type of submersible pump that do not need to be fully submersed in water. They can pump to very low levels of water (i.e a puddle) without the pump overheating or becoming damaged. This removes the need for a chamber to be dug.
